CALL FOR PROPOSALS
2009 FORT WAYNE TEACHING CONFERENCE
Submission Deadline:
October 31, 2008

The 12th annual Fort Wayne Teaching Conference will be held on Friday, February 13, 2009.  The 2009 conference theme is Guess Who’s Coming to College:  Engaging Today’s Student.

This conference theme offers an opportunity for faculty members and student development personnel to submit a relatively wide range of proposals.  Proposal topics could include:

  • Age-Specific Presentations (e.g., Millenial Student Characteristics and Implications/Effectively Teaching Non-Traditional Students)
  • Teaching Methodologies and Pedagogies (e.g., Changing Learning Styles/Multiple Delivery Strategies/E-Learning)
  • Emerging Issues and Trends (e.g., Dual Credit Initiatives, Expanding Number of Transfer Students)
  • Expanding our Walls (e.g., Learning Outside the Classroom, Learning Communities, Learning/Living Collaborations between Academics and Student Life)

This is not an exhaustive list.  We encourage proposals from a wide range of approaches.

Proposals must be submitted electronically no later than 5:00pm on Friday, October 31, 2008.  Please note that in order to view, fill out and submit your proposal, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader.  If you do not have it, you can download it for free at Adobe's Website.

All proposals will be screened by a faculty peer review committee.  Proposals selected by the committee will be recommended to the academic deans of the sponsoring institutions for inclusion on the program.  All individuals submitting a proposal will be informed of the decision.  The conference program will be published on the teaching conference website in January.
