CALL FOR PROPOSALS
2009 FORT WAYNE TEACHING CONFERENCE
Submission Deadline: October 31, 2008
The 12th annual Fort Wayne Teaching Conference will be
held on Friday, February 13, 2009.
The 2009 conference theme is Guess
Who’s Coming to College:
Engaging Today’s Student.
This conference theme offers an opportunity
for faculty members and student development personnel to submit a
relatively wide range of proposals.
Proposal topics could include:
- Age-Specific Presentations (e.g., Millenial
Student Characteristics and Implications/Effectively Teaching
Non-Traditional Students)
- Teaching Methodologies and Pedagogies (e.g.,
Changing Learning Styles/Multiple Delivery Strategies/E-Learning)
- Emerging Issues and Trends (e.g., Dual
Credit Initiatives, Expanding Number of Transfer Students)
- Expanding our Walls (e.g., Learning Outside
the Classroom, Learning Communities, Learning/Living Collaborations
between Academics and Student Life)
This is not an exhaustive list. We encourage proposals from a wide range
of approaches.
Proposals must be submitted
electronically no later than 5:00pm
on Friday, October 31, 2008. Please
note that in order to view, fill out and submit your proposal, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you do not have it, you can download
it for free at Adobe's Website.
All proposals will be
screened by a faculty peer review committee. Proposals selected by the committee will
be recommended to the academic deans of the sponsoring institutions for
inclusion on the program. All
individuals submitting a proposal will be informed of the decision. The conference program will be published
on the teaching conference website in January.
